about US
Restore Appalachia is a cause that includes a physical, spiritual, and emotional connection to the people of the Appalachian region. The needs are overwhelming and require patience, perseverance, grace, and trust. We believe that the key to helping is by first building trust through relationship and servanthood.
The immediate action plan is an organized effort to support those in our state of Tennessee as well as our neighboring state of North Carolina with the long-term recovery process that is required after such a disaster. This effort is being coordinated by Darin and Amanda Shiflett, founders of Kingdom Life Ministries in Sevierville, TN. This ministry has received a generous outpouring of support and help from those who feel passionately about helping the victims and families hit the hardest by this devastating hurricane and historic flooding.

Our pledge is to distribute the aid and supplies directly to community coordinators that are truly doing the work of delivering, managing, and coordinating in strategic and effective ways that matter most. Each region and community have different needs, and those needs are both evolving and changing week by week, based on the recovery status of that area. We are communicating with local teams and accessors daily to remain in constant contact in order to streamline distribution, labor forces, equipment, and a host of other logistics.

Darin and Amanda are personally traveling and mobilizing to these areas to help deliver supplies to remain in close personal support with the entire network of our volunteers, pastors/churches, ministries, and other NGOs.
We are NOT affiliated with FEMA or the Red Cross, and are not coordinating with those organizations.
